Meet the Vantage Auto Team

I didn't choose the car business — it chose me. I grew up in a family of car wholesalers. My grandfather started it, my father carried it on, and by the time I was old enough to ride along, I was already learning how to spot a great car. It wasn't just about metal and mechanics — it was about the feeling. The story behind every vehicle.

After graduating from Syracuse University with degrees in Entrepreneurship and Marketing, I took a detour to Manhattan where I built a marketing and nightlife firm from the ground up. But by 25, I couldn't ignore what was in my blood. Cars kept calling, and I finally picked up.

When I stepped into the family business, I brought a different perspective. The automotive industry hadn't changed in decades, and I saw an opportunity to bring a modern, curated approach to finding and selling collector-grade vehicles — something that felt more like a boutique than a dealership.

That vision became Vantage Auto. Today, we operate three brands and handle over two thousand vehicles a year, specializing in hand-picked, low-mileage modern classics sourced from independent sellers nationwide. More than 40 years after my family started this journey, I'm still chasing that same feeling I had as a kid — riding shotgun and falling in love with cars for the first time.

With over 40 years of experience in the wholesale automotive industry, Gary is one of the best known and experienced wholesalers in the nation. After building his company Gary Motors from the ground up, he established the foundation for the Vantage Auto brand and continues to provide his extensive expertise and experience on daily operations.

Ellen graduated from the University of Maryland in 2009 with a dual degree in Finance and Accounting and is a licensed CPA.

Before joining the Vantage team in 2020, Ellen worked in Private Equity as the Director of Credit at a real estate investment trust focused exclusively on the automotive industry with over $5 billion AUM.

As Head of Finance and Operations, Ellen oversees the company's financial strategy, operational efficiency, and process optimization across all Vantage Auto brands. Her background in evaluating dealership acquisitions and operations has enabled her to streamline workflows, drive profitability, and execute growth strategies for the expanding brand.

Ellen was recognized as an industry leader by being named an honoree of Auto Remarketing's 2024 Dealers Under 40.

After a successful career managing a sales team in Manhattan, Jordan made a career change and joined the Vantage team in 2020. A car enthusiast himself, this move enabled Jordan to use both the knowledge gained while studying at Syracuse University and his real world experience to lead our Moonachie sales team. Jordan is knowledgeable about the cars which we sell in addition to being a finance pro. Our clients love working with Jordan and know him as a laid back, well mannered, and "anything but the typical" car salesman. Jordan always goes the extra mile to ensure client satisfaction!

Shawn Huneycutt is a Sales Manager with over 20 plus years of experience in the automotive industry. Based in Rutherford, NJ, he values long-term relationships and a smooth buying experience. Outside of work, Shawn enjoys golf and firing up the grill for BBQ when time allows.

Joseph holds an MBA in Finance and Accounting from Fordham University and a B.S. in Accounting from Rutgers University.

Before joining Vantage Auto in 2025, Joseph spent over 15 years in accounting, treasury, and financial operations. Most recently, he served as Accounting Manager of Treasury Operations at Plymouth Rock Assurance and prior to that spent seven years as Senior Treasury Manager at Proskauer Rose LLP, where he managed a $200M credit facility and implemented process improvements across the firm's financial operations.

As Assistant Controller at Vantage Auto, Joseph oversees daily accounting functions, financial reporting, and operational efficiency — supporting the CFO in strategic planning and helping drive the company's continued growth.
